This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how SmartForms uses them, and how you can manage them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help the website remember your actions and preferences over time.
2. Types of Cookies
By Duration
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them
By Origin
- First-party cookies: Set by SmartForms directly
- Third-party cookies: Set by sub-processors whose services SmartForms uses (Stripe, Cloudflare, Google reCAPTCHA)
3. Cookies We Set

3.2 Functional Cookies

3.3 What We Don't Use
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, etc.)
- Advertising cookies
- Social media tracking cookies
- Cross-site tracking cookies
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some sub-processors set their own cookies as part of providing services to SmartForms. We do not control these cookies directly. The third parties operate under their own privacy and cookie policies.
4.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you make a payment, you may be redirected to Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe uses its own cookies to process payments securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's Cookie Policy.
4.2 Cloudflare (DNS, CDN, DDoS Protection)
Cloudflare may set the following cookies for security and performance:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Bot management — distinguishes humans from bots | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance |
Verifies the user has passed a security challenge | Up to 1 year |
These cookies are used to protect SmartForms from automated attacks. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy.
4.3 Google reCAPTCHA v3
We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on signup, login, and other key forms to prevent bot abuse. Google reCAPTCHA collects information about your interactions with the page (mouse movements, keystroke patterns, IP address) and may set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy and reCAPTCHA terms.
5. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, SmartForms uses browser local storage for:
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
formBuilderAutoSave |
Auto-saves your form in progress to prevent data loss | Until cleared or form is saved |
cookie_consent |
Remembers your cookie consent choice | 1 year |
6. Managing Cookies
6.1 Browser Settings
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Here's how to manage cookies in popular browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
- Edge: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
6.2 Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable essential cookies:
- You will not be able to log in
- You will not be able to use the form builder
- The service will not function properly
If you disable third-party cookies:
- Payment processing through Stripe may not work
- Bot prevention may flag your activity as suspicious
- Cloudflare security protections may degrade
6.3 Deleting Cookies
You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that deleting cookies will log you out and you'll need to log in again.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Because SmartForms does not use tracking or advertising cookies, DNT signals do not change our behaviour. We respect user privacy regardless of DNT setting.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be notified via email or through the service.
